Cookie policy
Last updated: September 2026
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website when you visit it. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and — on some sites — to track behaviour for advertising or analytics purposes.
What cookies Stapha uses
Stapha uses one type of cookie: a strictly necessary session cookie.
When you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) sets a session cookie on your device. This cookie:
- Keeps you logged in as you move between pages.
- Is deleted when your session expires or when you sign out.
- Is used solely for authentication — it contains no personal information and is not used for tracking or advertising.
- Is identified by a name beginning with
sb-.
Without this cookie the platform cannot tell that you are logged in, so it is technically necessary to provide the service. Under UK PECR, strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent.
What we do not use
Stapha does not use:
- Analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics, Hotjar, PostHog).
- Advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Social media tracking pixels.
- Third-party cookies of any kind.
If we ever introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies, this policy will be updated and we will ask for your consent before setting them.
How to control cookies
Because the only cookie we set is strictly necessary, blocking it will prevent you from signing in to Stapha. If you wish to sign out and clear the session cookie, use the “Sign out” link in the navigation.
You can also manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Each browser is different — look for a “Privacy” or “Cookies” section in your browser's settings or help documentation.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if we change the cookies we use. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
